Sustainable Winegrowing

Nga Waka is an accredited member of Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand. Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand is a vineyard management programme that guides vineyard operators towards sustainable management practices. The programme uses a combination of education, encouragement, measurement and assessment against a background philosophy of continuous improvement. An independent body regularly audits members to ensure the integrity and standing of the programme.

Nga Waka supports the goals of Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand:

• to provide a “best practice” model of environmental practice for winegrowers.
• to guarantee quality assurance from the vineyard to the winery.
• to address consumer concerns pertaining to the environment and winegrape production.
